Voter Registration Applications and Absentee Ballot Applications can be obtained from the Municipal Building at 6040 Upper Ridge Road, Green Lane, PA 18054. They can also be obtained from the Montgomery County Courthouse Board of Elections at P.O. Box 311, Norristown, PA 19404-0311 or via telephone (610) 278- 3280.

     Trash Removal

Q: How do I make arrangements for trash collection?
A: There are a number of private waste haulers operating within the township that offer household waste and recycling services. (See Garbage Removal or Rubbish Removal in Yellow Pages)


     Open Burning

Q: What am I permitted to burn at my property?
A: Only natural vegetation is permitted to be burned subject to the township ordinance. A permit is required from the Fire Marshal when piles exceed 100 square feet. In times of drought, a proclamation by the Board of Supervisors may be declared to temporarily invoke a period of no open burning.


     Building Permit

Q: When is a building permit required?
A: A zoning and building permit is required for most physical improvements to a property. A permit is required for replacing roof shingles when area is greater than 25 percent of entire roof; for placement of a storage shed and above ground swimming pools and hot tubs. Fencing may be required for pools having a depth greater than 24 inches.


     Door-to-Door Sales

Q: Are persons permitted to peddle or solicit door to door within the township?
A: No person shall engage in business within the township as a peddler, solicitor, or transient vendor without first obtaining a license and paying the license fee.


     Public Sewer System

Q: Who is responsible for a blockage within the sewer lateral between a residence and the street?
A: The homeowner is responsible to unblock his "private" lateral.  Assistance from a registered plumber may be needed.  Access can be gained through a clean out "T" located along the sewer lateral.
