Board of Supervisors
Marlborough Township is
a Township of the Second Class within the Commonwealth of
Pennsylvania. The governing body of the municipality is the
three-member, Board of Supervisors. Each Supervisor is elected for
a six-year term. The township operates in accordance with the
Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code, Second Class Township
Code, and local ordinances. The elected supervisors, whom receive
minimal compensation, are required to hold one monthly meeting and
may establish a schedule of work sessions. They enact ordinances
and resolutions, issue proclamations, approve the subdivision of
plots and other land development applications, authorize annual
budgets and the expenditures of funds, levy taxes, affirm the hiring
and termination of employees, and make appointments to advisory
boards, committees, commissions and task forces which serve the
Township. The supervisors elect a Chairman and Vice Chairman from
among their members at the annual organization meeting. The
supervisors appoint a Solicitor and Professional Engineer to serve
at the pleasure of the Board. An appointed Township Manager
administers the daily functions and operations of the municipal
government and implements the policies adopted by the Board.

Elected Auditors
The elected members of this body are charged with auditing, settling
and adjusting the accounts of all elected or appointed officials of
the township, and its boards or agencies, that receive or disburse
funds of, or owing to, the township during the preceding calendar
year. The elected auditors who are elected for a six-year term meet
annually to organize and establish the rate of compensation for an
elected supervisor if employed by the township. An independent
certified public accountant has been appointed through adoption of a
Resolution by the Board of Supervisors to perform the annual audit
in lieu of the Elected Auditors.

Tax Collector
The Tax Collector is an
elected office held for a four-year term. It is the responsibility
of the Tax Collector to send out invoices for Real Estate taxes for
the County, Township and School District, as well as Per Capita
taxes for the School District, to collect payment of these taxes,
keeping accurate records and distribute the funds collected to the
various taxing district.
